Founding races: the first 10 get launch pricing

Get your race underway.

Race registration you can set up yourself, with a tourism report built in and one all-in fee. Made in Ontario by people who put on races.

The demo is the real product with sample runners. No sign-up, nothing to install.

The Underway event dashboard: 245 registered of 400, $19,993 in sales, $18,378 to the organizer after fees, and a chart of registrations climbing toward capacity.

un·der·way adjective

Having started, and in progress.

Your race is underway the day registration opens. Everything after that should be easy.

Underway grew out of the registration system behind Night Shift 5K, a track race after dark in Niagara Falls, and The Erigan, a trail race in Short Hills Provincial Park with Niagara Geopark.

Three steps from a blank page to open registration.

Every step works on your own. The demo walks you through them with sample runners, so you can see race week before you commit.

1

Build the event

Distances, prices that step up on the dates you choose, a cap for each distance, a post-race party ticket with its own cap, and your waiver. One page, plain language.

The event editor with fields for event name, web address, status, date, first start time, time zone, location, registration close date and brand colour.

2

Make the confirmation email yours

Your words, your logo and your colour, with a live preview on desktop and phone. The order summary and confirmation code are added for you.

The confirmation email editor: subject, heading and message fields on the left, and a live preview on the right that reads You're in, Ava, with the order total.

3

Share your link and watch it fill

Hand out promo codes, and give each club, partner or post its own referral link so you can see what actually brought people in. Spots are held while a runner pays, so the last one can't sell twice.

Referral links report: Ridge Runners club sent 30 runners, an Instagram campaign 24, a spring newsletter 15 and a regional tourism partner 10, with sales for each.

The tourism report, built in.

Grants and tourism partners ask one question: did your race bring people to town?

Every registration is sorted by postal code as local, from elsewhere in Canada, or from outside Canada, and the report lists the postal areas sending you the most visitors. It updates as people register and shows counts, never names.

Coming soon A read-only login for your tourism partner, and a download to attach to a grant report.

The tourism report: 54 percent of runners local, 37 percent from the rest of Canada and 9 percent from outside Canada, with the top visitor postal areas listed below.

Built by people who put on races.

We organize races in Ontario. We built this registration for our own events, then kept getting asked what we were using.

When you write to us, the person who answers has stood at a check-in table at 6 a.m. Email andrewc.goupil@gmail.com, or book a 20-minute walkthrough and bring your questions.

Questions directors ask

Do I need to talk to someone to get underway?

No. The demo is self-guided, and a simple event doesn't need a call. If your race has unusual pieces, a 20-minute walkthrough is there when you want one.

Do I have to change timers?

No. Underway doesn't time races, so you keep the timer you trust. A Zone4-compatible export for your timer is on the way.

What do my runners pay on top of the entry price?

By default, the runner pays our 5% + $1.00 fee at checkout, and it shows before they pay. Card processing is included. You can absorb the fee instead. Free events have no fee.

When do I get paid?

Payouts go straight to your bank, usually a few business days after each registration. During setup you fill in one short form from Stripe, our payment processor, with your bank account and ID. The money is yours and never sits with us, and you can see every payout in your dashboard. A new account's first payout can take about a week while Stripe checks the details.

Who owns my participant data?

You do. We use it to run your event. We don't build a shared runner database, and we never email your participants about other events. A full participant export is on the way.

How do refunds work?

You can refund an order from the orders page whenever you decide to. Runner transfers to a friend are on the way.

I'm on another platform. How hard is it to switch?

Most of the work is entering your distances, prices and waiver text, and the demo shows you how that goes. Founding races get setup done with them for free. If you're mid-season, leave events that are already open where they are and start with your next one.

How is participant information protected?

We collect what a race needs. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers, and the tourism report shows counts, never names. Our privacy page explains what we collect and why.
